What does the Bible say about LGBTQIA+ people?

There are over 31,000 verses in the Bible, and only 6 verses even remotely talk about homosexuality.  Many Seventh-day Adventist Christians, from laypeople to seminary professors, have studied the biblical texts related to homosexual acts and have concluded that what the Bible doesn't say is as important as what it does say. The Bible clearly speaks against lust in any form. But above all it does not condemn, or even mention, homosexuality as a sexual orientation, nor does it address transgender identity.

Below are multiple resources that help to show how the Bible is inclusive to LGBTQIA+ individuals and help in how churches can become more affirming and welcoming.

Did you know — the word "Homosexual" was added to the Bible in 1946?

1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted a Culture is a new documentary that investigates how the word “homosexual” was entered into the Bible, how one man tried to stop it, and how a team of researchers recently unearthed evidence that challenges deeply held beliefs about LGBTQ+ people and their place in God’s kingdom.
